Projects We've Worked On Lately

The past few months have been very busy and lots of fun here at North Country Digital Recording.

October 2005 We had the thrill of recording and running live sound for a concert by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason at the Edwards Opera House in Edwards, NY.
November 2005 We recorded a concert by world-renowned cellist Matt Haimovitz with violinist Andy Simionesku and UCCELLO at the Edwards Opera House in Edwards, NY.
November 2005 The Orchestra of Northern New York kicked off its 17th Season with concerts in Potsdam, NY and Watertown, NY.  We were very happy to be there to record the performances for them.
December 2005 A live CD by three different jazz ensembles from Canton High School is released.  We recorded them in Rochester, NY in late October 2005.
December 2005 The Northern Choral Society filled the 1000-seat Asbury United Methodist Church in Watertown, NY three times to perform Handel's Messiah.  We captured it all for a CD release in early 2006.
December 2005 The Edwards Opera House, our favorite live venue, presented their first holiday concert featuring The Laurentian Singers from St. Lawrence University and Adirondack Harper Martha Gallagher.  It was a wonderful evening of music in front of a full house.  We were happy to run live sound and record it for broadcast on North Country Public Radio.
January 2006 We had two great recording sessions with the Boyea Family in Westville,NY, including North American Fiddling Hall of Fame inductee, Vincent Boyea.
January 2006 Our friend Paul Wyse performed works by Mozart and Schumann at SUNY Potsdam and we captured it all.
February 2006 The Orchestra of Northern New York performed its annual baroque concert at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam and we were there to record it for them.
February 2006 We ventured deep in to the Adirondack woods to record Curt Stager at Paul Smith's College.  Dr. Curt is a biology professor there but is also a stunning guitarist and banjo player and we had a great time recording him.
March 2006 StringFolks, a terrific quartet, spent two days with us performing a couple of dozen great acoustic tunes for an upcoming CD.
March 2006 We recorded what we hope is the first of many concerts for Hill and Hollow Music is Saranac, NY.  The Biava Quartet performed works of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven before a packed house.  It was a brilliant concert and we were very happy to be there.
April 2006 The Whompers, featuring harmonica virtuoso Chris Turner, played two gigs in the Adirondacks and we had a blast putting it on tape.
April 2006 The Orchestra of Northern New York presented an all Beethoven program and, once again, we were glad to be there.
May 2006 The Singing Sinners and Singing Saints from St. Lawrence University held their annual end-of-year recording sessions and did a terrific job.
May 2006 The Edwards Opera House kicked off its new season with a fantastic concert featuring "A Prairie Home Companion" regulars Robin and Linda Williams and we ran the house sound for them.
June 2006 Piquant!, a Potsdam, NY-based group playing cafe' music from South America, France, Spain and beyond, recorded their new CD, Celebration, at the Canton Unitarian Universalist Church and we were lucky to be the company they hired to record it.
July 2006 The McKrells played a fantastic concert at the Edwards Opera House and we were happy to run sound for them.
August 2006 North Country musical legends Danny Gotham and John Kribs played a fantastic show at the Edwards Opera House and we were very happy to be there to run sound.
October 2006 The great duo Jay Ungar and Molly Mason returned to the Edwards Opera House and we were thrilled to lend a hand.
