If you're looking for an audio engineer who eats, sleeps and breathes audio and nothing else, then Joel Hurd, our engineer, ain't your guy.  He has lots of interests, including beer and wine making, caring for his 20+ animals, and hanging out with his wife June on their 54-acre farm in Pierrepont, NY.  He's also been known to sit for hours on-end looking at maps (yeah, pretty geeky...we know.)

However, producing great audio is the thing he seems to obsess about the most.  He's been getting paid to do this since 1988 and in that time has worked on hundreds of commercials, CDs and radio programs.  He is currently Production Manager at North Country Public Radio at Saint Lawrence University, which is just about the coolest job in the world.

His first recording job was at Kamen Recording in New York City and he was Production Manager at WKNO-FM in Memphis, TN from 1993-1998, where he was also recording engineer for the Memphis Symphony and Opera Memphis.  He moved to the North Country in November 1998 and plans to call it home for the rest of his life.
